The Mobile County Health Department will begin countywide spraying for mosquitoes Monday night. The trucks could roll through your neighborhood anytime from 6-11:00.Residents are asked not to approach a spray truck while it is operating. Beekeepers or anyone who is allergic to insecticides used for mosquito control should call the Health Department at 251.690.8124.
The Health Department says there are some simple things you can do to keep from being bitten by mosquitoes.
- Get rid of any standing water.
- Limit outdoor activities during dusk and dawn.
- Use a good mosquito repellent on exposed areas. Repellents containing more than a 10% concentration of DEET should not be used on children.
- Wear light-colored, long sleeves/pants and a hat/cap.
- Avoid scented cosmetics that attract insects.
