The bad economy has left more and more people in need of help, that's the word from Mobile Community Action, a non-profit group that helps people in Washington and Mobile County pay their utility bills. Mobile Community Action Executive Director, Jimmy Knight, says they've seen an increase in requests for assistance. On top of these tough economic times, now the cold weather has arrived, which means more people will need heaters, or help with their bills, "anyone that feels that they have no where to go at least give us a call and let us see if we can help them resolve their emergency problem," said Knight. If you need help, you can call Mobile Community Action at (251) 457-5700 to see if you qualify. The group also provides assistance with food, shelter, heaters, and other needs.
