The Food and Drug Administration has expanded the recall of Peanut Corporation of America products to include all peanut products produced at the company’s Blakely, Ga., plant since January 2007. This has resulted in a new wave of recalls for foods manufactured with these peanut products. The current list stands at around 500 products recalled.According to Alice Rollins, director of the Mobile County Health Department’s Food and Lodging Department, environmentalists from her department are checking to make sure the recalled products have been removed from retailer’s shelves. They are also contacting public and private schools, day care centers, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, meals-on-wheels operations, and hospitals.
