I believe a lot is left to the investigating officer on how aggressively to pursue a claim made by someone against someone else and other times the procures probably require them to make and arrest,innocent or not.

If you were innocent till proven guilty, you would NOT be held in a jail cell awaiting trail.

cmb1… You should hope all the jurors are like me. I would be very fair. Once the guilty person or persons are convicted, I would still be fair. An eye for an eye but in an adult dosage.

Looks as if a few people misunderstood my post. I am in no way defending the person or persons guilty of hurting these children. I am merely stating that the ones that are accused haven’t been found guilty. I will also go so far as to say that I bet they will be found guilty or better yet will admit guilt. And since the woman is responsible for the welfare of those children she shouldn’t be allowed near them unless she has a very good alibi. Once proven guilty then I would be all for putting them in the stocks in the town square and letting the pidgeons have their way with them.
To put it another way, if this were handled improperly, those two would walk away free as a bird to abuse again.

Did I hear a few weeks ago about a proposal in Louisanna to women of child bearing age that they could receive $1,000 for having their tubes tied???  Did I hear that right?  If so, I think it should be adopted nationwide.  I know I would gladly give of my tax dollars to go to such a worthy cause instead of bringing more unwanted or unplanned children into this world and having them suffer at the hands of the adults who are suppose to love and protect them.  I don’t think we should FORCE STERILIZATION but I do believe that we should not reward people for being baby factories and if they want the money to agree to not have any more children then so be it.  People just think about the 4 little angels that were thrown from the bridge.  Yes, they are in heaven away from that monster but is he really any different than these two people who have injured and tortured these two little innocent babies???  In my opinion, NO.  If you can injure a child you can kill a child.  DEATH CHAMBER I SAY.

Madcap - i hope there is not a juror like you - people like you scare me.. Guilty no doubt LIFE to good and if she is ever getting out of jail they need to give her a hysterectomy before they let her out, so no other child EVER has to go through this.

I hope she gets the torture chamber.  Nothing to bad for her.

Oh and exactly how does a 5 month old get cigarette burns on his feet???  I have never seen a 5 month old able to walk,so the defense that he must have stepped on a cigarette butt in the yard is not going to fly…..  Defend who you wish but if you wish to defend child abusers then be ready to take the a$$ chewing from those who find this type of behavior REPREHENSIBLE!!!

One final thought:  The story says the little girls legs and arms were all broken….  What angers me so much about this is that a child’s bones are flexible and it is very difficult for a INFANT to have a bone broken because their bones will bend, not break.  My thought is it took some defenitive force to break this childs bones, not one but 4…..  If that is not deliberate then I beg of you to show me what is.
