Pandemic Center For Disease Control There are still no confirmed cases of the Swine Flu in Alabama but some people aren't taking any chances.

There are no confirmed cases of the Swine Flu virus in Alabama, but its affects can already be felt here in Mobile.

Face masks have been flying off store shelves since Saturday. SAAD Healthcare says they have been so busy they've already put in another order.
The masks can be used to prevent exposure to airborne illnesses like the Swine flu.

With the swine flu spreading in other parts of the country, some are not taking any chances.
"I think for the most part if you're going to be traveling into areas where you might be particularly vulnerable...you might look into maybe wanting to utilize this [mask] for a certain amount of time,"Said Maureen Hepner.

Tests results for a possible case of the Swine Flu in Baldwin County are still pending from the Center for Disease Control.

However, clinical trial data on the ability of face masks to reduce respiratory virus transmission in the community are limited to 1 published prospective trial, which showed lack of efficacy (12). In addition, adverse effects of wearing masks (particularly respirators) may affect compliance and effectiveness (13–15). Despite the lack of quantitative evidence, many countries have included recommendations in their pandemic plans on the use of face masks (16–18).

Check the facts before buying masks. There is no scientific, or clinical proof that these masks will protect you from contracting this flu or any other “bug”. I’d say, wash your hands OFTEN, and pray more often.

does anyone know, the only way you will ever be safe from something like this is to get it and let your body build the antibodys. by the time they have found away to get the antibodys in a safe vacine is 6 months to a year. a killer pandemic will have done most of its damage by then. i don’t know why i post this sheep can’t reason,but they look cute in masks.

No worries!! Just getting the word out in case things get out of control, I honestly think it will pass over but also very much a worry wart.
