2008 Panasonic National School Change Award
November 24, 2008, Mobile, Al., - Congratulations to George Hall Elementary School for being recognized as one of six schools in the Country to be awarded the 2008 Panasonic National School Change Award.
This program was initiated to recognize schools that have risen from being underperforming to exemplary and to reward the dedication and effort of the staffs, students and parents on focusing on the academic success of all students in the schools.
The award to the school will include:
• A ceremony conducted at George Hall in May/June 2009
• $5,000 including Panasonic products
• National recognition and coverage by the media
• Subsidized participation of the school’s principal in the Twelfth Annual National Principals Leadership Institute to be conducted in New York City
• An awards presentation by the United States Department of Education at a special ceremony in July 2009
• Participation in a major national research project
focusing on school change
