Mobile Police Officer Injured In Wreck

Alabama Mobile Police say a man pulling out of his driveway hit a patrol car sending it into a ditch.

A Mobile police officer suffered minor injuries in a wreck Tuesday morning.

Police say Joe Adams was pulling out of his driveway on Dawes Road around 7:00 a.m. An officer, who was headed southbound, swerved into oncoming traffic to try and avoid Adams' Volvo. But that didn't work. Adams hit the patrol car which landed in a ditch.

The officer was transported to Springhill Memorial Hospital.

I know, you know with all the cop haters on this site. Every time a story hits the web about cops and the possibility, and yes I said possibility that one did something wrong, certain people jump on them like Rosie O’Donnell on a glazed doughnut.

So doug you find it good that the taxpayers get to pay for another patrol car, or the fact that the injury of an officer sits well with you also? Why could this not have been the fault of the other guy, you know the one backing out of his drive, the one that was coming out of his drive so fast he couldn’t stop for the traffic on Dawes Road?

MPD officers are not held accountable for their actions, this is why they do whatever they want on our streets. Running red lights, passing in no-passing zones…and ofcourse speeding is common among MPD’s cars. Occasionally we get lucky when one totals his car like this.

could it be that, all mobile police are graduates of the billy bobby driving school? yesterday i moved over and stopped for blue lights coming up on airport. lady in a green ford wait for me to go by and stop then pulls out in front of the cop to cross airport. the cop had to slow down. she had to go down 100 yards down to the turn lane to cross. she saw him and his blue lights. just figured why wait. i was looking at her. i saw the cop mouthing something. wish i would have got her tag# maybe the cop can get her # from his dash cam.
