MOBILE FIRE-RESCUE NEEDS HOUSES FOR TRAININGFirefighters can simulate fighting fires and other tasks associated with combating a fire but it’s much better when they can train in an actual controlled structure fire. The department is currently training a group of future firefighters and will need structures for training. The Mobile Fire-Rescue Departments Training Division is in need of houses or other structures in which to train in and burn. Anyone who donates a structure to the department for training purposes can receive a tax write-off.
There are some requirements that must be met for the department to be able to use it for training purposes. All utilities must be disconnected; the structure must have a roof, floors, doors and windows. There may be other requirements as well. A member of the Training Division will come out and evaluate the structure.
Anyone wishing to donate a house/structure can contact Captain Ken Keller at 251-208-2996.
