As part of their Meth Initiative, Mobile County deputies have busted one of the leading purchasers of ephedrine and pseudoephedrine in the Mobile Area. Joseph Sage was arrested last night. Sage faces a number of charges, including possesion and manufacturing of a controlled substance. It's second time this week County investigators have identified a suspect through the countywide database. Short URL: http://wkrg.com/a/19860/
The database, known as the Meth Initiative, keeps track of all pharmacies and stores that sell the medicines used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. Both ephedrine and pseudoephedrine are used in meth-making. Along with Sage, Melody Dawn Goodman and Wanda Denise Ott were also arrested and now face drug charges. They were seen pill shopping at local drug stores. All three were taken to Metro Jail.
