More Mobile area soldiers are home from overseas.Thirty-three members of the 1184th Deployment and Distribution Support Battalion returned home to Brookley Field Friday afternoon.
They spent a year in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait.
Family members and friends welcomed the soldiers home with noisemakers reminiscent of New Year's Eve.
Captain Patrick Haddock came home to his girlfriend, Charlotte Anderson.
When asked how Anderson looked, Haddock said, "Awesome as usual."
And when asked how he looked, Anderson said, "He looks damn good."
Sergeant First Class Todd Hunter greeted his daughter and niece and said he wanted to "get a good steak and some seafood."
And Maria Maxson will have her son, E-4 Robert Miller, home for Mothers Day.
Maxson said, "I've worried so much about him and he looks so good and he's healthy and he's not hurt. That's the most important thing, that he did what he needed to do for our country."
When asked what it was like to see his mother, Miller said, "She's my angel, she's my hero, I've always told her all my life. She raised us three kids by herself and she's the one person in my life that I look up to and that's the reason I do what I do. I do it to keep my family safe and to make her proud of me. And so seeing her is my reward to myself."
Members of the Army Reserve 498th Transportation Unit leave for duty from the same spot at Brookley Field Monday morning.
