There is never going to be a completely full proof plan to get people to stop breaking the laws while driving, such as driving while drunk and making sure that everyone is wearing their restraints. However, just sitting back and not doing anything about it is not really an option either. The best that we can do is exercise ways to cut down on unsafe driving. That is what the checkpoint is set up for. Will it ever completely prevent the tragedies that occur from unsafe driving? No, but any number of fatalities and accidents that is prevented is better than what you would have if the checkpoints were not performed.

i’m leaving early because i have to put up with the scared nazi sheep who think they know best about things putting up road blocks. i will not get a ticket because i am legal. the ones how are not, will not be , i don’t care how many tickets you write them. they don’t have the money for it or just don’t give a shhssh.

First, look at who reported about the war on drugs..ABC news…if you are so concerened about your rights being infringed upon, those are not the people you should be relying on for information.

Second, the article clearly states on page 2, that the campaign “may” have had the opposite result in some teens. (driving them to try it)

However, it specifically states that MJ use in teens since the prgram begam was down 40%.

The checkpoint thing is a way different ussue in this forum.

I do agree, that we have wasted billions of $$ on the war on drugs. If “they” really wanted to end it, “they” could. Too much $$ involved.

The “war on drugs” didn’t work, billions down the tax toilet. Checkpoints are about the same thing, the real problem is having a large number of people that drink everyday. It’s like treating the symptom but not the cause of the ailment.
