A child is missing. A 15 year old girl leaves home in the middle of the night.
"We're doing everything in our power to get this girl back home safely," says a search weary Lt. David White.
The search is already 12 hours old.
But the way Foley police handles this case and any case involving missing children has changed. Last month after training with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, there's a new sense of urgency attached to missing cases.
"Anytime a child goes missing, missing is missing and we want to get them back as fast as we can." Police Chief David Wilson says each case is a top priority. "Some people look at it as just a juvenile who has run away well nationwide 80 percent of abducted children start out as runaways. Either they are abducted when they go missing or they are in a place they are not suppose to be and they get abducted."
The new effort may already be working. In this case, the teenager is found and returned home within 24 hours, safe and unharmed.
Chief Wilson says he wants his officers to treat each missing persons case as if it were their own child that was missing.

I can assure you she was not TAKEN…if so, it would be all over the place in the media and someone either in jail or their photo plastered all over the news asking for help finding the bad guy. Sounds like this was typical behavior of a kid wanting to go out and have a good ole time…not wanting to listen and obey rules of the house.

did she run away or was she taken?  There’s too many rapes & abductions in OUR Baldwin County.  Do a body count…about 15 this week.  Plus, we have those wanna be-cops. Please be careful…everybody

Does anyone have a clue as to how many types of these calls the police get every day??? The police cant be expected to treat each and every one as a possible abduction…The kid needs to be disciplined.

OK SO WHERE WAS SHE,WHY DID SHE LEAVE HER HOME AT NITE WAS SHE ALONG MAYBE NOT SHES 15.YOUNG LADY YOU NEED TO THINK ABOUT THINGS BEFORE YOU GO OUT WITHOUT LETTIN SOMEONE KNOW,USE YOUR HEAD.
