2:07 p.m.MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Authorities in Alabama say a girl who
had been missing since Saturday has been located and is safe.
Law enforcement officials on Monday cancelled a Missing Child
Alert for Makayla Briana Coleman. She was last seen at about 7 p.m.
Saturday in Sheffield.
Alabama Department of Public Safety officials said Monday that
the girl had been found and that she is safe. No further
information about the circumstances of her being found was
provided.
DPS had said earlier that Makayla was believed to be with
Kimberly Nicole Thomas, who is wanted for questioning in an assault
case.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Authorities in Alabama have issued a
Missing Child Alert for a missing girl.
The Department of Public Safety issued the alert Monday for
Makayla Briana Coleman who was last seen in Sheffield on Saturday
at approximately 7 p.m.
Police believe the girl, a black female, was abducted.
DPS said in a statement Makayla was with Kimberly Nicole Thomas
who is wanted for questioning in an assault case.
Thomas was last seen driving a Purple Dodge Stratus with unknown
Alabama license plates and was possibly traveling to Nashville or
Atlanta.
