Mobile County Health Department offers mosquito minnows

In an effort to help control the mosquito population, the Mobile County Health Department will distribute free minnows (Gambusia affinis), which feed on mosquito larvae, from 3 p.m. to 4:15 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, until further notice at its Vector Control compound, 750 Congress St.

The minnows can be placed in ornamental pools, ponds and animal watering troughs. People can also get these minnows from local streams, ponds and other fresh water sources.

Anyone wanting to get minnows from the Health Department should bring a container. For more information, call 690-8124.

Semmes - I haven’t seen or heard the truck?

That fellow that comes by my house with the bug truck must be running about 40 mph .If the bug doesn’t get hit by the truck he hasn’t got to worry about that little mist coming from the back of the truck.
