Alicia Johnson lives near one of the latest meth arrests. She's a mother of three with one on the way. Johnson says she's glad to see deputies cracking down.

“If an explosion would have happened you know, little ones would have been involved it's just sad it’s so close to home you know,” says Johnson. Members of the sheriff's office say their meth tips texting program has helped them double the number of meth lab busts in 2008.

“It's just short and to the point and it just gives us the information we need our deputies are trained how to respond and take responsive action, it's proved very successful,” says Sheriff Sam Cochran. Sheriff Cochran says he attributes many of the recent meth arrests to better intelligence and he expects more to come

“We've established a list of suspects based on items that they've been purchasing we've been getting a lot of tips from drug and hardware stores where people are buying these products,” says Cochran. To report meth, you can text the word “meth” to 839863 or call 251-574-8633.
