ELBERTA, Alabama - The Baldwin County Humane Society hosted the 2nd Annual Cove Dog Olympics at Pirate’s Cove Marina today, 10/10/09. It's a chance for dogs, and their owners to take part in a friendly competition. Mostly, it's a chance for dogs and their owners to get together near the water and have fun.“Well it's just another way to have fun at Pirate's Cove, Pirate's Cove is a dog friendly place and we just try to extend that,” says Dog Olympics Chairman Mike Healy. The canine competitors took part in water sprints, dock diving and a burger eating contest.
