An autopsy is underway to identify the body of a man found in a refrigerator in Clarke County.News Five spoke with Clarke County Sheriff Bobby Moore tonight.
Moore says deputies discovered the body behind a house along Mt. Zion Road in Grove Hill.
Investigators believe the body could be T.C. Reed III. The Washington County man was reported missing on Monday.
The sheriff's office says no one currently lives at the house where the body was found. But deputies are questioning a couple who lived there back in December. Moore tells us the couple knew Reed and family members claim they were friends.
"I don't know how they met or anything like that. I just know that he was a friend of hers. I really haven't talked much to her about him. 'Cause I don't know him, I never met him. But I just knew that she was talking to a guy they called T.C." Said Tiffany Davis, a relative of the couple.
Clarke County Sheriff Bobby Moore says the body was so badly decomposed, investigators will have to use dental records to make a positive identification.
