Manhunt Over, Murder Suspect In Custody

Murder University Of West Florida BREAKING NEWS: After a 3-day manhunt and a university campus lockdown sheriffs deputies say they have arrested Bruce Day a man wanted for a 2001 murder.

ATMORE, Alabama - Authorities in Escambia County, Alabama say they have arrested Bruce Day, a man wanted for murder.

Day is the man who caused a lockdown at the campus of the University of West Florida in Pensacola Monday. Deputies had gone to the nearby Gulf Power Crist plant to arrest Day for a murder that happened 8 years ago, but he got away. Authorities caught up with him Thursday night in Atmore and took him into custody.

He was taken to the Escambia County, Alabama jail.

Day is a suspect in the 2001 murder of Woodrow "Token" Allen - an attempted murder victim who disappeared just before Day was to go on trial. Investigators have developed new evidence and have charged Day with Allen's murder.

bruce day is a good friend of mine. my friend did shoot at token allen’s car as he was caught stealing from his property once again.theft was common in the area at the time.30 days later this man vanishes or leaves and bruce day is accused of murder.i stand behind my good friend bruce day.the escambia sheriffs dept. made him look like a cold blooded killer.bruce day is a good father and a good man that is innocent.
