Bamagirl - you are right. I do not go out at night into the main drag (Hwy 45). So you are right - I do not know what goes on in the parking lots and at other hang outs. Maybe some of our police are mingling too much when they should be cruising in police cars. Where I live, the southeast side - we are very quiet. I like living in Citronelle. I think the small town is very quaint and original. No chain stores except the Dollar Store and a Hardees. (Hope the chain stores stay away). Anyway, I think Citronelle is a good place to live.

I live in Citronelle and am angry with all who think Citronelle is a bad place. It is not, where I live it is not bad now, yeah two years ago a friend of mine was shot and killed one street over from where I live. I honestly think that the killing “sparked” Citronelle in all the media’s mouth. Please don’t knock all of Citronelle, some of us are good and just trying to live. to be honest, I live in Citronelle and work in Mobile.
Please don’t think all of us are Crazy in Citronelle. The police department in Citronelle…haha that is the biggest joke around!!

FLOWERCHILD your right it’s not the cops fault there’s crime. But, it is when they are commiting them theirselves or turning a blind eye to those who do because they are family.

FLOWERCHILD It is the fault of the police if they rather hang with the croud then arrest the croud, If you know what I mean, then there is something wrong. You even have some police men in citronelle stoping girls just so they can chat with them and even hook up.

Have you ever been to Citronelle on a friday night? Its pretty bad. You have teens running the roads, partying at parking lots and at the parks, and so much more.

I know this because I use to hang out there. But I seen how bad it was getting and I got out. It was the best choice I ever made. I’m sorry if I am making you or anyone else mad but something has to change or these crimes will never end.

So If it means getting new cops that give a darn about the people then so be it.

There seems to be a lot of violence in Citronelle, some reported and some hush hush.  All of this is giving the city bad publicity.  It scares me when you look at all the homes up for sale. The people moving to work at the steel mill will not pick Citronelle with the crime rate so high.  I agree with the suggestion of redoing the police department.  I think they need some attention there.

Bamagirl - it is not the fault of the Citronelle police dept that crime occurs. It is not the fault of any police. There is a few bad people in every line of work - unethical, etc. I wouldn’t knock law enforcement.

Citronelle is quiet and peaceful where I live. Crime is everywhere, though. None of us is exempt from crime. I like Citronelle.

I blam this on the sorry cops that Citronelle has.
When the cops rather case girls and feed there faces then go and stop crimes like this from happening then what do expect. I know of 2 cops in Citronelle that gives a darn about the people there the rest just don’t care. Seems like to me the need to look into getting some new people on the force. This town could be a really great place its has alot to offer but if it keeps going down hill like it is, it will lose not only my business but others as well.

But has anyone found out who it was that got hurt?

Citronelle is another small town that is getting a lot of attention because of the media. This town is no different than any other town in Mobile county, but for some reason it is getting all the focus. Yes, I do live in Citronelle and I work in Mobile.  I have experienced all the areas in this county and I would not live any where but Citronelle. Don’t form your opinions on just what the media wants you to know, do some research on your own.

Yes, it is very scary.  Your kids are blessed that you are so involved.  They may not think they are blessed right now but one day they will be thankful.  wink
