Children are a blessing from god,but without a guiding hand they will wander, waver with every gust of wind.By teaching morals and respect for others and the knowledge that you have gained in your time on earth you can add a self confidence and charactor.But i am on the other side I was the father and believe me there is an unspoken language between fathers and boyfriends When they meet eyes nothing needs to be said.God Bless you and yours

Yeah I agree with you. You can not keep you child guarded forever. At one point they have to learn independence and go out into the world on their own. No one can predict where something bad is going to happen. You are taking a risk everyday by just getting in the car and driving from point a to point b. Anything can happen anywhere. The best you can do is give your children the knowledge they need to be safe and succeed in life and hope for the best. If you keep your children sheltered and locked up forever they will begin to resent you and you are more than likely to get the opposite reaction of what reaction you were trying to get from them. I think that I would be able to handle the dating situation better with my daughter than my husband would, just because of the simple fact of I know how it was being a girl and trying to date.

OH by the way i forgot to tell you they don’t date anymore.It’s more of a communol get together instead of dating.Have Your husband the LE officer to take the daughter in the backyard when she’s a little older and teach her some of the take out methods quick takedowns.Unless you want to put her in a bubble .Today the violence is not just associated with a certain class it’s everywhere.The world is changing you can be robbed and shot at the hardware store.Stay on your toes and learn what to watch for and stay on your toes.Best of luck ,Alabamaoutlaw God Bless

I have instilled my children which are grown now with resposability and that every action will be met with an equal and opposite reaction.I forgot to mention that i have three daughters At a very young age 4 was the starting point for Jerry to start teaching self defense I can’t spell all that they trained in but they excelled and went through the belts broke the boards and yes i had to go get them from the police station to get them because someone was going to try them.They fought when they had to .Jerry is gone now or i would have my grandaughter right there.

Yeah it disgust me to. However, there is not much we can do to change what has already been done. What we can do is try to change the future. It is something that is not likely to change because so many people do not see a problem with how the world is today. The only thing I can hope is that I raise my daughter to be a good person, but a strong person as well. You have to have tough skin now and days just to make through something as simple as high school. I am sure that you are hoping the best for your children as well, especially since high school is probably so fresh in both of our minds. I do not want to be an over bearing mother, but I sometimes wonder if that is the best way to be. I know that being too over bearing can just make the child want to act out more, but I am scared if I let go even just a little bit that something bad might happen. Thankfully my daughter is only 2 right now, so I have sometime to prepare myself for that.

I couldn’t agree with you more minimay. I can only name ONE person I know that has NOT been raped, molested, beat or has been murdered. That is my sister surprisingly enough. It is just insane as to how bad things have gotten. I am 22 myself with 2 kids. Sometimes it scares me to death knowing my children will have to grow up in the world the way it is now. Good people die all the time because of senseless acts of violence, people are becoming victims of rape everywhere you turn, children being sexually violated. It’s disgusting how sick the world is now.

Yeah I know. New Orleans was already high in crime before Hurricane Katrina, but it was just like Hurricane Katrina was the button that pushed this city into criminal over drive. I always thought that situations like that were suppose to help bring a community together, but in most cases it just seems to add fuel to the fire. It is sad but true.

New Orleans has already claimed the FBI title again for the most MURDEROUS CITY IN AMERICA (per capita) award and did it with plenty of extras for good measure.
