BREAKING NEWSThe Escambia County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in the March 25th murder of Cheryl Cain.
Cain's body was found in a dumpster behind an abandoned convenience store at Hwy 29 and Burgess Road in Pensacola.
Deputies say 29-year-old Scott Thompson strangled Cain and dumped the body. Thompson was roommates with Cain's ex-boyfriend.
Investigators linked DNA evidence found at the scene and in Cain's car, which was missing after the murder, to Thompson. They also found Cain's wallet under Thompson's bed.
Thompson is being held without bond.
