A Mobile man is in Metro Jail charged with sodomy and kidnapping after police say he forced a woman into his car and sexually assaulted her.

According to police, witnesses say 43-year old Marvin Gaye Moore forced a female victim into his car and drove to a secluded area near Todd Acres Drive and Hamilton Boulevard in Theodore. That's when police say Moore sexually assaulted the victim. He was arrested shortly thereafter.

Moore was booked into Mobile Metro Jail charged with domestic violence, sodomy and kidnapping.

To rmseek1234,
I stand corrected; told a stretcher to try to
make a point.
I am sure we all agree that crime in the Mobile area is out of control.
You are right that when we see something, call
the Law.
That is the least a citizen can do.

There are far more GOOD people in ANY part of town. Have you not seen the crackdown on prostitution there? The streets are being cleaned up by the MPD. Not exactly like your local citizen has any power to STOP them, other than calling the police when they see that kind of activity going on. Besides, that has nothing to do with this case. A woman was FORCED to do something she did not want to. End of it. Doesn’t matter if she was a nun, prostitute, cashier, crack-head, student or anything else-NO ONE SHOULD BE FORCED TO DO ANYTHING! I hope she will heal emotionally and psychologically, after she heals from the physical. Keep your chin up!

I know that there are potentially good people
in Theodore; but why does the good citizens
let the prostitutes parade at Bellingraph
and 90?

nuong-I really don’t see the reasoning behind that-care to explain? With that line of reasoning-everyone in Grand Bay and Bayou la Batre are meth/crack heads, everyone in Semmes/Wilmer are rednecks, everyone in Prichard is a thug, and everyone in Regency is a snob? Sorry man-you can’t judge people by where they live, or what their neighbors do or don’t do. There are good people ALL over-who fall victim to crime. I suppose you guys who think this is the “victims” fault, also think it is OK to slap the little woman if she mouths off to you,or doesn’t jump when you tell her to, and by golly-keep her home, barefoot and pregnant. Glad I don’t live in your kind of life. Pathetic.

These bottom dwellers like Marvin Gaye Moore have no respect for women or they would not leave so many fatherless children, so much domestic violence in their wake.  There is no responsibility to these scum.  It seems as if their lives are just one big circle - do a little drugs, beat a little woman - get arrested and released - repeat.

Cicicamy,
As a man, I agree with you; but it is hard to be
objective with the community “Theodore” comes
out in news reports.

Very easy to tell who are women and who are men on here. I find it very disturbing that any man would ever try to blame a woman for getting raped. I mean really, would anyone on here like to elaborate why men on these forums really think it is not such a bad thing for a woman to get raped? I don’t care if she if out drinking with a whole pack of men. It is not ok under and circumstances to rape anyone.

good luck to all involved. there really arent any correct discusssions for this story. so sad it even needed to be written

The choices a woman makes does not make it OK for a man to rape her or attack her. It is sad that some seem to take the side of the attacker. Unless you have been in this situation you really have no idea of the horror a woman experiences.

georgia’s comments aside, there is a lot to this story that doesnt add up, and the cry of rape doesnt add up here. there needs to be a through investigation of the background of both individuals involved, as well as thier previous relationship. a fwe years ago there wasw someone in mobile county hwo tried to have thier husband charged with rape for events that had taken place years ago. its a nearlyt indefensable crime for a man to defend himself against. if you are out on broad and government at 2am, then yeah, you probably did contribute to your situation. had you been home in bed alone or with someone of your choosing like you were supposed to be then it woudlnt have been an issue. youre out there at 2am in an area known for that type of behavior, well, oyu get the picture. as i said, had she been home in bed asleep instead of out and about in this high crime area we wouldnt be reading this story. its all about the choices we make. i am sorry this happened but not just jumping on the lets hang him bandwagon until more of the facts are known.
