Thousands of high school kids, college students and families are heading to Baldwin County's beaches this week. The Foley Police Department wants make sure they have a fun and safe vacation.
Chief David Wilson has created a "D.U.I. Task Force" to keep impaired drivers off the road.

"Part of our job is protecting and serving," says Sgt. O.T. Miller with the Foley Police Department. Miller is part of the D.U.I. Task Force. "You're taking a risk, it's a gamble. You don't know if you'll get from point A to point B."

Miller and the officers with the task force are specially trained in D.U.I. enforcement. The task force will be out this entire week as thousands of students from both Mobile and Baldwin Counties use Highway 59 and the Foley Beach Express to get to Pleasure Island.

"We're looking for speeders, reckless and careless drivers and even drivers who don't use their turn signal," says Miller.
