The City of Mobile says it will close Old Shell Road at McGregor Avenue in Spring Hill starting Friday at 7:00 p.m. The intersection will be closed for two, one week intervals between now and July 13 so work crews can install pedestrian crosswalks as part of a larger plan to make the neighborhood more pedestrian friendly.
Closed To Through Traffic
Old Shell Road at the west side of the intersection near the CVS Pharmacy; closed to through traffic from Friday, June 26th at 7:00 p.m. through Monday June 29th;
McGregor Avenue at the north side of the intersection near Compass Bank and Exxon Station; closed to through traffic from Tuesday, June 30th through Thursday July 2nd;
The south side of the intersection on McGregor Avenue near CVS Pharmacy and BankTrust; closed to through traffic from Tuesday, July 7th through Thursday, July 9th;
The east side of Old Shell Road near BankTrust and Compass banks; closed to through traffic from Friday, July 10th through Monday, July 13th.

The city wants to stress that all businesses near the intersection will remain open throughout the construction.
