The City of Mobile says it will close Old Shell Road at McGregor Avenue in Spring Hill starting Friday at 7:00 p.m.

The intersection will be closed for two, one week intervals between now and July 13 so work crews can install pedestrian crosswalks as part of a larger plan to make the neighborhood more pedestrian friendly.

Closed To Through Traffic
Old Shell Road at the west side of the intersection near the CVS Pharmacy; closed to through traffic from Friday, June 26th at 7:00 p.m. through Monday June 29th;

Gone, that seems like a great idea, but the fact that it is going to take TWO WEEKS makes me think that even if they only work at night, the roads will still have to be closed.

They should do this at night when it would be somewhat cooler and less traffic congestion.  Doing it at night would not affect businesses as much.

Has anyone noticed that the Magnolias near Savannah CT have started to turn brown? I wonder if it’s due to the construction?

ohhhhhhhhhh no, is this gonna be like florida street???
