Loxley police have arrested a man they say broke into a woman's home and raped her at knifepoint. It happened around 3:30 am Sunday, June 14th, in the Stapleton community. Police say 31-year old Charles Edward Raines entered the woman's home by removing a window air conditioning unit. The victim said he was wearing something covering his head and had a small knife. Authorities used dogs to track Raines down. Loxley police say, when they found the suspect, they also found a bike. It was taken into evidence and the handle bars and seat were covered. They say the treads on the bike's tires matched those found at the scene. Raines is in the Robertsdale city jail charged with burglary, rape and assault. Loxley police say he confessed and apologized for his crime.
