A loud noise near Downtown Mobile in the early morning hours Monday had some people calling the News 5 Newsroom.
The calls came in just after midnight.

A few minutes later, Mobile Fire and Rescue crews were called to Gulf Coast Asphalt on Blakely Island. A dispatcher said the noise was described as a loud rumbling, like thunder.

Mobile Fire and Rescue spokesperson Steve Huffman says when crews arrived, they found an asphalt tank smoldering. A plant supervisor arrived a short time later and said everything was under control.

No injuries have been reported from the incident.

I’m betting the Cowboy’s horse is not bloated anymore. smile

Maybe just the sudden escaping of hot air from the “Cowboy” combined with the paddle echo from Hermie!

“A dispatcher said the *news* was described as a loud rumbling, like thunder.”  ???  LMAO!
