Family and friends of a woman who disappeared more than 6 years ago are hoping to generate new leads in the case. Melinda McGhee hasn't been seen or heard from since March 24th, 2003. The Escambia County Sheriff's Office says she was assaulted while she slept and abducted from her Atmore home. No arrests have ever been made in the case. Now, family and friends are organizing a motorcycle ride this weekend to raise money for the Melinda McGhee reward fund, "the last 6 years have been very hard. We've just kept it in our minds, in our hearts and hoping that she is still out there somewhere and that everyday that comes around we think about her," said McGhee's friend, Crystal Stabler. The motorcycle ride will start Saturday July11th at 10 AM from the Wind Creek Casino in Atmore. Registration is from 8 until 9:30 AM. You can pre-register by emailing organizer, Rita Tullis at rita_tullis@yahoo.com. If you have any information about the Melinda McGhee case call the Escambia County Sheriff's Office at (251) 809-0741.
