A local church is helping teens cope with the death of a 15-year-old girl who police say was accidentally shot in the head by a friend. A memorial service was held Wednesday night at Oak Park Ministries in honor of Kellie Beck. Police say Beck's friend was playing with a .357 magnum Monday when she pointed it at Beck and pulled the trigger. Friends of both girls have turned to Student Pastor Richie Nobles for help. He says he's received hundreds of calls, that's why he decided to organize the service, "now, they have the question why and that's a question that's almost impossible to answer. But, they've turned, you know, they could turn other places, but, it's a positive thing to me that they've turned to the church to see how God can answer a tragedy like this," said Nobles. Nobles was expecting hundreds of kids to be at the service in West Mobile.

The shooter was charged with murder…please quit calling it an “accident”

You cannot tell me her friend “accidentally” pointed the gun at her friend’s head and then “accidentally” pulled the trigger.

That girl is a murderer, and should be treated as such.

i’m sure the police have this info by now as well and the fact that they aren’t saying it means they’re already trying to protect this girl because they hate to see a girl like the shooter charged w/ murder. it’s not an accident if you have malice in your heart.

Well if they were fighting and arguing, then this is murder and should be charged as such.  A 15 year old knows better and should be held accountable.

Well thank you newsy for REAL info on this. It’s a shame we have to get info like this from someone other than the local news people. But I guess when you struggle just to be grammatically correct, we can’t expect you to get actual information on a story. Thanks again for the info, and as a side note. Oak Park is a great church, and I hope that the young people will use this opportunity to get their lives straight with God.

this is such a sad story i was starting to wander why two 15 yr old girls would be just playing with a gun so thank you for clearing this up. parents should not be having fire arms in the house if they have not taught there children it is never ok to even play or touch a gun when you don’t know what you are doing.

Part of this story is not true.  It says that girls were playing and she was shot (5pm news today) but I work at 911 communications and that is not true.  The girls were fighting and arguing, her friend that shot her is the one that called 911 and told us the information.  She said they had been fighting and arguing and she got the gun and pointed it at her and accidentally shot her.  We are all upset because it is hard for us to understand how these mature, 15 year old girls who got into an argument can lead to an “accidental” gunshot.  We are all praying for the families and their friends.
