Volunteering is just what the doctor ordered and was delivered in Bayou La Batre on Monday. More than 100 people joined forces with Volunteer Mobile to roll up their sleeves and donate their time. They painted houses and did yard work for people in the Bayou. The group got a donation to do the work in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King's Day of Service. The group plans to keep working in phases to spruce up South Mobile County. This was just round one.
Phase 2 will be to build a walking trail around Dr. Regina Benjamin's new Bayou Clinic. Financial trouble stopped the construction of the facility and its parking lot.
Got Plans For Monday?
