MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - A federal judge has ruled that a former
Saraland youth baseball coach facing cocaine charges can leave jail
pending trial.
But the judge delayed the release of Marlon Rayford Wade II of
Eight Mile for 24 hours Tuesday to give prosecutors a chance to
appeal.
Officer John Nixon testified that officers monitored a drug deal
last week in which an informant gave Wade a kilogram of cocaine in
exchange for a 9 mm pistol and the title to the defendant's Ford
Explorer.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Deborah Griffin was concerned by the
Wade's release because he failed to appear for court hearings
several times in the past.
His criminal record includes 31 prior arrests over the last 19
years.

Because almost all crime is somehow tied to drugs. They gave him help. He has less access to drugs now. Should they have just slapped him on the wrist because he wanted help? He was making meth, not just using it. How many people became addicted to the drug that he was producing. He got his punishment and hopefully he will come out and make himself into a productive citizen. on’t expect anyone to feel sorry for a guy with a kilo of coke or a guy who was making meth.

Beacon78, yes I did know as you call “The Meth Head”, if you could read you would understand that this person WENT FOR HELP for his addiction and what he got was 14 1/2 years. Get it? When people ask for help for their addiction, you should atleast try to help them, not jailing them for 14 1/2 years. Go into the Feds and just see what they sentence people to for drugs, killing someone gets you less time….....Whatever…....

They should make the individual pay.  If my kid was playing and I wanted to coach, I’d be willing to pay $40-$50.00 for the background check.  I think it’s a small price to pay for the safety of my children.

Why arent criminal records public knowledge? Why can’t we get them ON THE INTERNET. Forget paying $50 plus for a background check. If Blockbuster can computerize and Walgreens can share prescriptions, LE across the country can too. I want to knwo who I am living next to and who is driving my kid’s bus.

What are you talking about hate-it? It says a FEDERAL JUDGE granted his release. That would be the feds. The case is in Federal Court. Just because the MPD made the arrest doesn’t mean it isn’t a federal case. Sounds like you know the meth head.

Yo…Coach…take a lap. Oh wait, a kilo of coke? Take 5000 laps.

Where oh where are you Feds??? I can’t believe they have not picked this one up. They got a guy almost 4 years ago, who had be making meth but went to them for help, the only help he got was 14 1/2 years, courtesy of Joe Wolff. If the FEDS do not pick this one up, I have questions?????
The guy I am talking about also had been arrested before several times but not to the tune of 22.
Come on Joe, where are you. This could be another feather in your cap.

I assume “leave jail” means post bail??
