MIAMI (AP) - Jimmy Buffett has accepted a business role with new
Miami Dolphins owner and longtime friend Stephen Ross.
The team was mum Friday on details, despite reports that Dolphin
Stadium might be renamed "Landshark Stadium" for at least one
season. The lager is a product Buffett markets in a collaboration
with Anheuser-Busch.
The Dolphins would say only that more information would be
released at a news conference next Friday.
The stadium has lacked a corporate sponsor for several years,
but could attract one now. Besides being home for the Dolphins,
Miami Hurricanes and Florida Marlins, the stadium will host the
Super Bowl in February.
Ross, a New York real estate tycoon, said after buying the
Dolphins in January he wanted to rebrand the franchise.
