Jesus in the drywall may sound like the title of a country song but two subcontractors in Gulf Shores say that's what seems to have appeared inside a house they are working on.
Inside what will be the kitchen of a new house in Gulf Shores, Omar Craddock was just getting to work.
"We were in here doing some work. I happened to be looking around and I seen something going on that I normally wouldn't see."
An image, in the drywall. "We were working and my brother-in-law Omar said 'Hey come look at this'," says John Gissendanner.
"When I first seen it," says Omar, "the first thing to come to my mind was Jesus."
Gissendanner saw it too, "I looked at it and I said, I see something, a freak occurrence but I did see something in the image."
It started as a routine repair job around a water outlet. "Like any other time, you are suppose to fix something like that. My Dad put some mud on it and I guess when he put that mud on it it kinda highlighted the image or whatever you want to call it."
John and Omar have been doing this kind of work for 30 years or more and they've never seen anything like this. "I'm not a religious man by any means, I mean, I believe in God and stuff like that but when I seen that, that's the first thing to come to my mind."
His brother-in-law is not so sure. "It's just open to personal interpretation of what you see. I do see a face. As far as putting what that face looks like, I don't want to go that route," says Gissendanner.
Whatever it is or looks like, one thing is certain according to Gissendanner, "For drywall finishing this was a pretty exciting day."
Other people who have seen the image agree it looks familiar. Many think it does look like Jesus but, Moses, Sasquatch and Charlie Manson have also been mentioned as possibilities.

I been working every minute I can Mr. Carl, you know winter will be HERE in about 6 weeks, then it’s SNOW, SNOW, SNOW! So I got to bank all the hours I can before the weather cuts us back. I still check in every morning, to make sure everything is OK down that way, I just very rarely comment anymore. It seems here lately, there’s only bad news anyway, and my mom always told me “If you don’t have nothing good to say, keep ya mouth shut!” Although I vent every now and then, I try to remember her words most of the time. Not to mention the fact, some of WKRG’s editors got on me for expressing my opinion in a blatant manner. Although I see others saying the exact phrase I used, and their comments not being erased, maybe I struck a nerve somewhere. But I’m still around, my heart and soul lies in Alabama, no matter where my body may rest!

WOW, i really want some of what they had smoked earlier. I looked at it about 15 times, and the best image I could get out of it was a possible “Willie Nelson” or maybe even “Santa Claus” but, not the good ole J.C.!

Could we please have an article about the trillions of times that religious nuts DON’T see a blue-eyed, bearded European guy on their walls? Time to move to Europe, where they laugh at this sort of thing, instead of here where so many people still think that magic is real.

Looks like water marks on sheetrock to me. Better put a better sealer on that before painting it or there will be more water marks on it from the owner crying about the job.
