OAKLAND, California - Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable may have finally seen enough of quarterback JaMarcus Russell.

Cable benched the former Williamson High School star with with 5:45 left in 2nd quarter, down 14-0 to the New York Jets. Russell was 6/11 with 2 interceptions and a fumble. Russell was replaced by veteran backup Bruce Gradkowski.

Russell has thrown 8 ints, including two in four of the Raiders seven games. For the year, Russell is 74/160 for 891 yards, 2 TDs, 8 ints.

Russell, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2007 draft, has been booed recently by the frustrated home crowd in Oakland as he has failed to complete even half his passes this season.
