In order to be a doctor, you also have to look the part. Dozens of students at the University of Alabama are doing just that. More than 80 third year medical students took part in a special white coat ceremony today, June 27th, 2009. It's where the students go from in-class training to taking care of patients. The Mitchell Center was packed with family and friends. Organizers say it's a big boost to the profession to get a new crop of experts. “We hope we can get all kinds of services from, not only in the Mobile area but whatever institution they end up going to,” says Arena Manager Victor Cohen. The students also took an oath. They promised to uphold the human aspects of medicine like respect for patients and compassion.
