One of the hardest things for Brianna parish's family to handle is the fact that they were the ones who found her.

“We're breaking down about every five minutes, one of us breaks down, the other has to pick us up,” says Brianna’s mother Sylinda Parish. “We can't believe this happened.” Brianna's mother says the family called their own search team together.

“She was laying unclothed at the bottom of the ditch with a bag over her head,” says Sylinda Parish. Sylinda says the Daphne Police Department should have done more, quicker to find her daughter.

“They should check with every outlet don’t depend on the police to do it, Daphne police are just not equipped for this kind of thing,” says Sylinda. A Daphne police department official says they feel the response was adequate. He says they were operating on the assumption that the victim was hopefully alive further away from the pub. People who live and work near where Brianna disappeared earlier this week are on-guard.

“I've never really been afraid, but yeah I’ll keep the doors locked more and I’ll be a little more vigilant watching,” says Tammy Kilgoar. She owns a salon near the Bay House Pub. Her customer Alice Laubenthal has a daughter around Brianna's age.

“A lot of fear because every time she goes out now I'll worry more than I did before more so now since this happened,” says Alice. More information on an autopsy might be available Monday.

I have only been to Bay House Pub once and I really have no desire to go back. I have a friend that goes out by her self quiet often and I worry so much about her.

When I heard that Brianna went missing from Bay House, all I could remember was how dark and creep it was walking from the bottom of the stairs out to the car. Luckily I was with a group of people…. and I still felt unsafe. I just noticed that it was dark with many shadows and many places for someone to hide.

I hope they catch this degenerate and feed him to gators… alive

I know I watch too much crime t.v. but the police did not waste their time cleaning up that crime scene.  They found her a little after 4p.m.  A little after 9:30 pm the yellow tape was gone and everyone was gone.  In my view that is just a little too quick.  I travel that road multiple times a day.  I hope she put up a fight and grabbed some hair or scratched whoever so they will find some DNA.  Hopefully the police will have enough sense to look for marks and under her nails!  I just hope they find the right person and not just arrest someone because of circumstantial evidence just to get this to go away.  That will be one hell of a trial!  To her family I keep you in my prayers!

Every person man or woman has a right to go and do as they please any time of day without fear of being harmed.  However, life is not always fair and I would not ever walk in some places in mobile waving a wad of mondy at 2 am either.  We as parents do a lousy job teaching our daughters that many men are violent and dangerous, and alcohol ony amplifies this danger.  It seems far too often we read about a young woman who is murdered after meeting some man at a bar, which is a place that will attract a much higher percentage of violent men.  It is a shame that such men exist, but they do, and we need to tell our daughters that they do, and where they are likely to be and to fear every stranger as a possible threat.  I feel for this family, a young woman taken by some creep who probably already has a criminal record who is out to prey on some new victim.  Every parent out there should make their daughters read this story and all others like it before one of you suffers a similar fate.

I do not live on the eastern shore ,but if the police are as incompetent as i have read in this forum, some sort of action needs to be taken ,contact the attorney generals office and ask for help it will be given .I don’t care if it takes the FBI to bring this young girl and family justice. No one in his community is safe with this animal on the loose.Justice,Bring back yellow mama.
God bless this family and keep them in your prayers

If I was a policeman the first place I would have looked is where they found her. Why didn’t Daphne take the time to look around, instead of letting that poor family have to find her?  Yes, the Daphne Police are not trained to find victims or murderers, but they do know how to hide out on the same street corners that she disappeared from to find drunk drivers!  Good job Daphne police, you manage to meet your quota on DUI arrest, but you missed a murder that was right in front of your eyes!

I was searching the local news in Daphne to see if they were posting any more info than our local news in SE texas. I had the pleasure of meeting Brianna and was shocked to see her face come across our 10pm news. I spent one day with her at the beach during the summer and liked her so much. She was easy going, full of life, and had a genuine smile and laugh. I can not believe someone could hurt such a great person. I am a mother of 2 girls ages 1&2 and she immediately told me of her love of her family and nephew. My daughter is showing signs of delayed learning and hollers alot, but she never got tired of it just said im used to it i have a nephew. ha ha. The kids spilt drinks on her, stuck their suckers to her hair, and she just smiled and laughed. It seems like she was just sitting in my kitchen laughing at my daughter trying to put on her(bri)sandles. I cant believe such a neat and special person is gone. I want who did this to pay.  Send them to texas we know how to do it right.

stories like this happen because of our legal system. i was looking up sexual offenders list and the punishment does not fit the crime. some of these offenders only serve maybe 2 yrs. murder is just a step away from what these so called humans did. if this person or persons are caught let it be a father’s justice.

I Feel so very sorry for this family and their loss of their daughter,I have 7 children and can’t imagine loseing any of them, There is some sick people in this world today.I will keep this family in my prayers, Even though I did’nt know any of them. May God be with each and every one of you.

I can not even begin to imagine what Brianna’s mother and family are going through.  The lose a child is tragic enough , but to lose her in such a senseless act, for her mother to find her body is way too much.  I never heard of Briana before Thursday , as of last night I am unable to get her off my mind. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
