"He followed his training, he stayed a safe distance, he stayed on top of his pursuit," says Sgt. Rex Bishop with the Robertsdale Police Dept.
Ashlock and the police cruiser disappeared into the Wallace Tunnel. Moments later, the suspect lost control of his car near the Dauphin Island Parkway exit and crashed. The chase was over. When Ashlock finally wrecked his car in Mobile he was taken into custody by the Robertsdale Police Department. But his problems are far from over. Ashlock still has to answer to the felony arson warrant in Florida.
"He's obviously a danger," says Bishop. "He had outstanding felony warrants and he needed to be removed and taken into custody and luckily, nobody else was hurt."
Ashlock's passenger, Kimberly Gravitt, was also arrested. Gravitt was charged with resisting arrest.
