Our News 5 Skywatch cameras along the Bayway captured the action moments after Donnie Ashlock pulled away from an officer conducting a traffic stop in Robertsdale. Ashlock, wanted on a felony arson arrest warrant out of Pensacola, headed north and led the officer through several police jurisdictions before making it to I-10. But the patrolman didn't give up.

"He followed his training, he stayed a safe distance, he stayed on top of his pursuit," says Sgt. Rex Bishop with the Robertsdale Police Dept.

Ashlock and the police cruiser disappeared into the Wallace Tunnel. Moments later, the suspect lost control of his car near the Dauphin Island Parkway exit and crashed. The chase was over. When Ashlock finally wrecked his car in Mobile he was taken into custody by the Robertsdale Police Department. But his problems are far from over. Ashlock still has to answer to the felony arson warrant in Florida.

"He's obviously a danger," says Bishop. "He had outstanding felony warrants and he needed to be removed and taken into custody and luckily, nobody else was hurt."

Ashlock's passenger, Kimberly Gravitt, was also arrested. Gravitt was charged with resisting arrest.

i dont know i would have to see the film from the newsfive skywatch cameras, seems like he follwed him a long way. as long as the officer didint endanger the public by chasing him across the newsfive expressway, (I am kidding pat) it sounds like he acted appropriatly. we have a trooper helicopter in fairhope they could have launched, and observed from the sky until he stopped. thank goodness it had a good outcome. remember probably fifteen years ago when there was a chase in mobile and they stopped civilian cars to block I10, there was a crash and a couple of civilians were killed. thankful if had a positive outcome and no one was injured.

I have just about come to halt on the old program since they started the new power ball system.Haven’t given up,just reorganizing.I still believe in cause and effect. What are you farming this year Claycity? Those squash I planted a few weeks back are near bout ready to eat.I wonder what policy the local police follow in high speed chases? Is it left up to the persuing officer or is there some speed limit that triggers a quit to a chase?I suspose each city could have a different policy though.

morning carl. me and pat both were counting on your lottery progam to give us the winning numbers. so we could retire early. pat’s esp said to get them from you. hows the program doing for you? hope all is well, its been really crazy in baldwin county this week, but again i am on the road trying to make a penny. coming home on monday cant wait to smell feel, and taste south alabama again.

YO CLAYCITY ! Say pat has ESP? how about getting him to rattle off some lotto numbers for us.That’d make a nice bailout plan for us.LOL

isnt it funny how just yesterday they ran a story on high speed police chases, does pat have esp? glad no one was hurt.

I guess that the police couldn’t radio ahead and cut him off.
