Infant Dies From Shaken Baby Syndrome

DECATUR, Ala. (AP) - A father is in jail charged in the death of
his 4-month-old daughter.

Morgan County Sheriff Greg Bartlett said Tuesday 36-year-old
Gary Lee Wilbourn of Lacey's Spring was booked on a murder charge.

The sheriff's office said man's daughter, Amy Wilbourn, died
Dec. 19 at Crestwood Hospital. Authorities said the baby girl
appeared to have died from shaken baby syndrome.

The infant's mother was not charge, but the couple's 2-year-old
child is now in the care of other family members.

Gary Wilbourn was already being held in the Madison County Jail
on an unrelated offense. His bond for the murder charge was set at
$500,000 bond.
