Prichard Hit And Run  Prichard Police are looking for a driver who they say hit an 8 year old boy.

8-year-old Boy Struck by Vehicle

Today, February 6, 2009, around 7:30 a.m., Prichard Police responded to a call in reference to one struck on North Fairport Drive. Upon officer’s arrival, they were advised that an 8-year-old male walking to the bus stop was struck by a white Ford Taurus driven by an unidentified black male.

After striking the victim, the driver drove off in an unknown direction. The victim was treated on the scene by Fire-Rescue and transported to the University of South Alabama Medical Center. Medical personnel advised the child may have suffered a broken leg. However, the entire level of his injuries is unknown at this time.

Investigators are currently working the case and following leads. Anyone who may have witnessed this accident is asked to contact the Prichard Police Traffic Unit at 251-331-2232.

It is one sorry POS to hit a child and take off!!!

This is an everyday occurence in Prichard.  They should put a brick wall around that place and charge admission.
