Elberta Police Officer Calvin Coggins says he was just doing his job when he saved the life of two-year old Kadyn Stevens.

"I was heading to Foley when a woman flagged me down and told me her son had a seizure and wasn't breathing," says Coggins. "I cleared his airway and gave him CPR until paramedics arrived."

"He's a hero," says Kadyn's mother, Denise. "He's Kadyn's guardian angel. If Officer Coggins wasn't there, I'd have one less child today."

"I'm not a hero," says Coggins. "I just did what was natural."

Coggins is no stranger to saving people's lives. Just three years ago, he performed CPR on another child during an emergency situation.

"I still get choked up about it," says Coggins. "I get chills down my back thinking that I've saved these two children. They could grow up to be national leaders. Everybody is here for a reason and I'm glad I was able to help."

Coggins was presented a "Life Saving Medal" at Tuesday's city council meeting in Elberta.
