If a grown man using a paddle is a problem.  I want to bring charges on some teacher and adminstration staff of my former public school. The judge had overseen 6000 cases and mentor to hundreds of young mens.  They found these convicts willing to say anything for a reduce time in jail.  There were evidence that they told there cellmate that they were after a deal. I have problems with this body of work and they can find convicts.  I saw young mens who life was turn around by Judge Thomas.  I have not seen any of the other judges make a difference in my community.  This was unfair, unjust and totaly unethical of the person involed.  We will remember this in June 2010.

lovepeace…you are correct in a situation like this.  I know for a fact in a child sexual abuse case where we counted up over 30+ kids that had to be involved and only 7 came forward and made it into court to testify.  The perp had contact with ALL those boys and you can’t make me believe that he didn’t try something with all of them [yes he liked them young] but they didn’t want to get involved in the court proceedings so they let the 7 get the job done [thank goodness].  P.S.  Perp is in jail until the youngest turns 21 which has been well over 10 years.  We’ve been surprised it worked out like it did.

I also think you are mistaken about room 806. That was not used as a holding room. It was used as a spare office on occasion in addition to being Herman Thomas’ personal torture chamber.

I do believe that one out of eleven got the color of the paddle wrong. So I wouldn’t put so much weight on that one factor. Instead I would consider closely what the parents of some of these people said. Especially the character witness that was there on behalf of Herman Thomas. During her testimony she said her own nephew was paddled and she was all for it.

There is not much doubt that Herman Thomas liked to whip these people. The questions have to with the definition of that activity.

A grown man taking up a paddle or a belt against another grown man is very strange if nothing else. Parents instinctively give up the idea of spanking their children once they are past a certain age. To do otherwise comes across as very abusive and manipulative.

There was no DNA Evidence linking Judge Thomas to a convict. The DNA was link to a convict, who said he did not remember the incident.  The room where the DNA was found is use by the courts as a hold room.  The judge and staff did not have a key. The board use for paddling as describe is False.  I was a SGA official in college.  I had a system to remind freshman on the fraternity.  The system was the colors of the frats.  The blue board is not the color of Judge thomas frat.  The DA had no case. If you want to use race, yes.  We see things cultural different.  We want facts and not lies. We know when somnthing stinks!

Don’t you think it makes perfect sense that only a handful out of 6,000 cases would come forward with these sorts of allegations?  Only a fraction of females report sexual assault by a male.  It is painful and humiliating and most are full of shame and self-blame and just want to forget it ever happened.  Do you have any idea how difficult it is for a man to admit he was sexually assaulted by another man?  There’s no telling how many more there might have been who don’t want to make it public.  I think “11 or 12” (and actually there were more who didn’t make it all the way to testifying) is an astounding number of men with similar allegations.

cmb1, what makes you think these men are lying to get ouf jail?  Are you aware that they are not being released in exchange for their testimony? Some of them are currently free anyway.  If they’re not doing it for justice, they are not getting much out of this other than being shunned by many in the black community for taking up for themselves against a more powerful man.

Most attorneys, white and black, respected Thomas until these allegations came out. This case is hearbreaking, embarrasing, and disappointing to almost all members of the local Bar.  I suspect there were a few too many people PROTECTING Thomas, but I promise you, there is no racial conspiracy against him. If you want to argue about racial injustice, take up for the real underdog and ask why it took so long for anyone to step in and protect the black victims.

The fact are the facts of the case, whether the spelling is correct or not.  The facts are no sex took place with the convicts.  Out of 6,000 case only 11 or 12 convicts said something happen.  Some did not even come to testify. The Facts are this is not a paddle case.  The witnesses said they were paddle by a blue board.  That is not the colors of Judge Thomas frat. This is a challenge to the black community to push back on these insults and trial by media.
The trial brought out mean streak by certain people to get this black man on facts by convicts. These convicts has continue to committ crimes.  I am mad and I will not forget this trial by media and not the facts of the case.

So forget my spelling and grammar, I do vote.

Taking the word of criminals and backed up by their parents and a little DNA. This judge was one sick puppy.

Race? No this is the taking the word of criminals who will do anything to get of jail? There is alot wrong with this whole case..

lawyers will always use the crutch of racism to defend their clients if necessary.  Remember the O. J. Simpsom trial.  You must admit they do whats necessary to defend the people who pay them.  I’m sure Mr. Thomas is paying a large fee.
