For one Mobile family, Memorial Day is everyday.Army Specialist Steven Givens was killed on Mother's Day 2005. He was shot by insurgents in Iraq. Joyce McDuffie says her son will never be forgotten and wants others to pay tribute to fallen servicemen and women long after the holiday is over.
Givens got married just 3 days before leaving on his second tour of duty. He used to ask his family to send candy and Mardi Gras beads to share with Iraqi children.
His family traveled from the Cypress Shores area to visits his grave in Saraland for Memorial Day. They released red, white and blue balloons... hoping he will catch them.
