House hunters in need of a little help with the down payment were in luck today, 8/15/2009. Open houses were held at two homes in Chickasaw that are part of the Mobile County Home Program. The federally funded program offers up to $40,000 worth of assistance to low and moderate income buyers. Some say they're looking for the stability that comes with home ownership.
“Be able to provide a permanent residence that way when I'm in my senior years I have a legacy and some kind of asset to leave for my children,” says prospective buyer Morrisha Williams. Only two houses were on display in Chickasaw today. Realtors say there are a couple more of these homes being built. If you'd like to apply for the program call 251-602-0011.
