If you were travelling through Mobile today, Sunday, July 19, 2009, you probably ran into heavy traffic on the causeway late this afternoon. The going wasn't much better on the Bayway. Summer vacation traffic was also pretty bad going both ways. Backups seemed to start around noontime and were concentrated around the Wallace Tunnel. Most of the congestion was along the westbound sides of the causeway and Bayway.

I say they all need to stay in Lousiana where they came from. Every wkend it’s the same thing in the summer, you can’t go anywhere without idiots on the hwy from La.

90% of the people entering the tunnel during the weekend are out of town and spaze once they started entering the tunnel and begin hitting the brakes.  Halfway through it traffic starts flowing smoothly.

All because some idiotic engineer put a sharp curve at the end of a tunnel
