People who live within a half mile of the FGBI Company on Dunlap Drive in Downtown Mobile are being asked to stay inside.

Mobile fire fighters are at the plant monitoring a grain silo after workers noticed what they believe is smoke coming from the silo.

Mobile Fire Rescue spokesman Steve Huffman says the grain is treated with a chemical called phosphine. When it gets wet, phosphine can produce a dangerous gas.

Employees have been evacuated as a precaution and people who live near the plant are being asked to stay inside.

Yes Ick i understand your point now. I talked to my husband at ATL and they didn’t even know anything about it.

grain silo’s blow up with great force and have wiped out whole citys before. the big deal is if it goes and takes out the oil and fuel depot with it…  you see waht i’m saying now cmb1?

Oops, “storages”

I don’t think a fishy smelling pesticide is gonna ignite oil or gas starages.

ICK my husband works at one of those plants so it is a big deal…

big deal, how close is it to the oil and fuel depot there? thats what you should be asking!
