A Mobile man is speaking out after making a shocking discovery at a family movie theater.
Walter Henderson is a maintenance worker at the Carmike Cinemas off Highway 90.
He claims when he got to work Wednesday morning he found this noose hanging on the front door.
Henderson believes the noose sends a racially offensive message. "It symbolizes hate and it symbolizes a form of intimidation that most folk would come and hang a noose and that would let you know that you better fear me because I will be back to get you,"Said Henderson.
News Five spoke with the General Manager of the Carmike who says they haven't dealt with an incident like this before.
They tell us anyone caught pulling a prank like this will be reported to the police.

correction… were not

butterfly..only if effigies of Ghandi, the Pope and the Dalai Lama where dangling from the bottom…

Opinionwriter..my bad, I misunderstood your point. I agree with you it could possibly be harassment, and it probably is but it would be difficult to prove.

Had it been done on Halloween…Would it be considered a hate crime?? Like the effigy of Sarah Palin and John McCain were perceived.

kedaver, my main point wasn’t that a crime had been committed, but rather that hate crime laws are totally bogus. I’m not going to pick bones about a possible harassment charge, which it could warrant.

Opinionwriter, exactly what crime was committed here? What laws where broken? While I do find it childish and inappropriate, there was no crime committed here.

well said alabamaoutlaw…the noose is no more a racial hate symbol than the electric chair or a guillotine. It was a form of capital punishment and many people regardless or race were executed by it.

Well, you know, the whole 18 hours of school, 35 hours of work thing keeps me pretty busy.

KxVicious, have not seen your post in a while. glad to have you back.

AMEN ROSEPETAL!

I still stand behind the belief that it’s an ANTI-PIRACY thing.

YE PIRATES BEWARE!
