A Mobile jury has convicted Garrett Dotch for the murder of his ex-girlfriend outside the Subway on Old Shell Road.

Dotch shot Timarla Taldon in July of 2006. She had just left work and was sitting in her car in a parking lot outside the restaurant. Fellow
employees took Taldon inside and tried unsuccessfully to resuscitate her.

Prosecutors say Dotch is cold-blooded killer who planned the murder for two years. Dotch's lawyers argued their client was not guilty by reason of insanity.

Closing arguments started this morning. The jury reached it's verdict after coming back from lunch.

The jury is now trying to decide whether Dotch should get life or death.

Now that he has played his “get out of jail free” card(Insanity) him and his lawyer can get down to planing all of his appeals which probably will last a good ten to twenty years. We really need a better system than the one we have. I have slowly been changing my view of PRO capital punishment to NO capital punishment because it would give the victim’s family or friends a chance to walk up and execute the convicted murder, when there was no doubt of guilt, and then plead temporary insanity and maybe spend little or no time in an mental institution. we have to learn how to use our laws better against the criminals because the lawyers and criminals know how to use them really well. If I were on a jury there would be no way I would let a person be convicted of anything other than temporary insanity for trying to get justice for a murder victim or victims.

And ha ha at your name….... pIG ol Benis….. sounds christian.  Keep up the good work

Mr. Pig would you still be saying that if it was one of your family members??

Now Now, That’s not christian for any of you to say! We must forgive this man for his deeds. Remember WWJD?

He will more than likely die of old age in the state of Alabama.
They aught to send them home with their lawyers under house arrest.

I say FRY him. He took a life and now he needs to give his. Insanity my rear! They all holler that.

I worked at the Domino’s across the street when this happened. I hope they fry him in ol’ Sparky. What he did to that young lady was unforgivable. Not to mention he put by-standers at risk by shooting her in an open parking lot.
