Gucci Celebrating 15th Birthday This Weekend

Alabama Mobile  The Chow-husky mix was hanged beaten and set on fire in 1994. Gucci survived and had an animal cruelty law named after him.

The dog behind Alabama's tougher animal cruelty law's will celebrate his 15th birthday this weekend in Mobile.

Gucci was hanged, beaten and set on fire in 1994. The Chow-husky mix managed to survive, despite the second and third degree burns. In 2000, Governor Don Siegelman signed a bill that makes intentional cruelty to domesticated animals a Class C felony, punishable with up to 10 years in prison.

You can meet Gucci this weekend and help celebrate his birthday Saturday at B&B Pet Stop. The Friends of the Mobile Animal Shelter will be serving birthday cake at Noon.

DEW26M, I totally agree with you. That could easily have been a small child that was abused. So often laws are not enforced (Mobile’s ordinance regarding bicycles is ignored). This guy should be made to do pound duty for a long time, and a long course of anger management.

A whole lot of good it did passing the laws, beings how they NEVER utilize them! Why weren’t the laws used against that pathetic little excuse of a human being labeled as “Kitten Killer” ????

Looks like the poor thing is still living with abuse,check out that knotted rope around his neck.Sad,really sad!
