Grand Day For Fairhope Art

Fairhope Point Clear The annual Grand Festival of Arts by The Bay moves to downtown Fairhope.

FAIRHOPE, Alabama - It's a grand weekend for art in Fairhope. Dozens of people are checking out the 28th Annual Grand Festival of the Arts by the Bay in Fairhope. More than 100 artists are showing of their best stuff this weekend. The festival started nearly three decades ago at the Grand Hotel. This is the first year they've held the event in the downtown area.

“The character of Fairhope always makes it fun to be here, the weather's great, so the variety of art and being right here in the middle of Fairhope really makes it a great event for people,” says event co-chair Bob Young. This is another juried artist competition. The free event continues tomorrow, 10/18/09, from 10 am to 5 pm.
