A 4th of July tradition is going strong in Grand Bay. People were taking their slice of the 37th annual watermelon festival. Dozens of people packed the area for a taste of Grand Bay's finest export. There was food, music and an expanded kid’s area. Organizers say the best part is still the watermelon.“They're great, all of them are locally grown in Grand bay and they're really good,” says event coordinator Marie Mathis. This is the one and only fundraiser for the Odd Fellows in Grand Bay.
The non-profit group hopes to raise $10,000 for events throughout the year.
