A local ministry wants to help needy families in our area, but they need your help to make it happen. The All God's Children Ministry is collecting clothing and school supplies at the Semmes Community Center today and tomorrow. They hope to give supplies away tomorrow. However, they have received very few donations. In years past, the community center has been filled with items. This year, donations are extremely scarce.

If you can help, any small donation is appreciated. Just drop off items at the Semmes Community Center on Highway 98.

For more information on ways you can help the organization, contact Sonya Humphries, at 209-9163.

My daughter does not start school for another year. However, then it will just be Pre-K. I still have my uniforms from high school, that I can drop off, but I think the only part of the uniform that would still be suitable would be the skirts. Uniform shirts do not hold up well over the years. My family and I do not have a lot of money, but I can pick up some supplies from the Dollar Tree. I was pleasantly surprised in the selection of school supplies that they have when I was there last time. However, with everything being a dollar somethings are better being bought at Wal-mart.
